This is a fine work indeed.
A suggestion: add some information about suffix-based matching in catalogs
using the Java resolver.
"Simple DTD SYSTEM identifiers" (or any system identifier that ends with
"docbook.dtd") do work with the Java resolver and a catalog entry like this one:

suffix="docbook.dtd"
