[docbook-apps] How to turn off xref page number reference forspecic tags

I'd like to turn off the page number reference that appears with the xref,
for specific tags, for example, <table>. We are using docbook 1.72.0.

In our custom xsl, we have
  <xsl:param name="insert.xref.page.number">yes</xsl:param>
 
Would appreciate someone showing me an example of how to set this.
