DOCBOOK: Difference Between XML DTDs and SGML DTDs

Hello!

Recently I was reading a book about XML and Java and was told that XML
DTDs are different from SGML DTDs. Can anybody tell me the differences so
that I can convert SGML DTDs to XML DTDs?
