DOCBOOK: no line break between media objects

Hi everybody,
I'm looking for a way to arrange a table and two media objects in a line, i. 
e. without a line break. I can do it with a table, but then I can't produce 
rtf, because rtf cannot handle nested table (says openjade).
Any ideas would be appreciated
