Introducory materials before the first varlistentry in a variablelist

Hi,

The current docbook 2 html XSLT stylesheets (docbook-xsl-1.60.1) don't process
any of the introducory materials appearing before the first varlistentry in a
variablelist. According to the TDG the option to have such materials appear
before the first listitem is pretty new, so I suppose the
stylesheet maintainers haven't gotten around to implementing this.

Would it be wiser to wait for them to implement this or should I simply
modify the stylesheets to make it work for me?
