Program lists and screenshots with text and reference numbers

Is it possible to have text descriptions below programlists and screenshots ? 
A little paragraph explaining what it is about ? And is it possible to have 
it numbered and cross-referenceable.
What I'm thinking about is, I have some code, and in the bottom I have:
Code 1: Hello World program implemented in C.
And in other places I could cross reference to code 1. And the same for 
graphics. So if I add graphics or code in the middle of document, the 
numbering doesn't go wild.
