Nested ItemizedLists with IE and PDF

Utilizing Docbook xml DTD 4.4b2, xsl 1.67-2,  jre 1.5.0_01, oXygen 5.1 and 
xalan on FC2.

Transformation problem:

When nesting itemizedLists, an additional blank line appears before the start 
of the nested list. This HTML rendering issue appears to be unique to IE

Additionally, PDF transformation results in a bullet where the HTML blank line 
exists in the HTML rendering. 

I am utilizing override=none as a nested itemizedList parameter/value.

Please advise.
