glossary

For the first time, I have a need to 'tweak' docbook.

Scenario:

I have a large book with peculiar terms.
I want to produce a glossary,
but with some form of reference to the page number within
the book.

Before I make a hash of it,
any suggestions for an 'appropriate' amendment/extension please?
