Perhaps rather than using the entire 'docbook',
where DITA takes the idea
of the topic, would it be more appropriate to use some subset
of docbook, around the same level of granularity?
Perhaps section or similar.
Then the ideas of DITA could be used with a variant
container, but picking up (IMHO) many of the benefits
of DITA?
