output-chunking into a specified directory and textinsert-extension- base.dir

I got a problem using base.dir in combination with the textinsert-extension.
Untill now i used base.dir to put the files generated by the chunker as
described in http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/Chunking.html#HtmlOutputDir

Now for the first time i tried to use this extension and first i was
surprised why the stylesheet was unable to find my document - until i
recognized that it was searchin in my output-directory for the file i
tried to include...

Is there any way of avoidng this problem? i don't think so, but maybe
you are willing to change this behaviour in a future release, because it
don't think it's exactly brilliant to combine the basedir for in- and
output into only one parameter.
