Another oxygen related question:

Is there a reason why title can be conditionally coded within the bookinfo
area, but not in the chapter?

    <bookinfo>
        <title condition="ssvr">Configuring SocketServer</title>
        <title condition="pv">Configuring Socket Services</title>
            </bookinfo>
    <chapter id="SocketServer_overview">
            <title condition="ssvr">SocketServer Overview</title>
            <title condition="pv">Socket Services Overview</title>   
	...
I believe this is related to oxigen since it works with notepad.

You need to create a customization layer to the DocBook DTD, and add:

<!ENTITY % local.effectivity.attrib "
product CDATA #IMPLIED">
