Following up on my last email to you.
 It does not look like I will receive travel approval given the still
strict travel policy (getting better as industry recovers) and the other trips
already planned, given my role as TIA OP representative to MESA, ANSI-designated TC204 Secretariat, etc.

 

I really do appreciate the opportunity
though as this is a very important topic.  I do not think MESA (PPDR Professional
broadband data communication capabilities) fits so well into this scope, at
this level of development.  I also sent request to MESA Secretariat at
ETSI but it is Holiday season of course. 
However, I may be able to assist with information for the workshop even if I
can not attend in person.  Or maybe another can introduce the material or
even incorporate it into another presentation that say gave an overview of
Region #2 standardization and relevant initiatives that support ICT standards
for public warnings?  Is FCC already on the agenda?  TIA is involved
with this topic from a wireline and wireless perspective.  We also have
infrastructure standards like those for constructing sturdy steel towers that
could be utilized for cell sites and warning apparatus.

Re the topic,
we are proposing “TIA/ETSI MESA Project” but you could change that.
 The topic of the session is “ICT standards for public
warnings”.

reminder.  There is a scheduling issue I am considering as MESA meeting is the next
week and this event is early the week before. Approval for travel is still
tight at TIA. Any other events for the rest of the week after workshop?

Thank you for the invitation Sim緌.

I will bring this offer up to my boss and see what we can do.  It would be
helpful if you could send an agenda or other information on topics,
participants, etc.  Whatever adds extra clarity?  How many attendees
do you expect?  I also have some concern on scope--is it about public
warning only or is PPDR professional user elements in there too?
