(This won't help the line-number mismatch, however.)
If you have full function Acrobat (e.g. Acrobat Distiller), Word has two
ways to generate PDFs.
1. You can simply print to Distiller.
2. There should be an Acrobat icon somewhere on your tool bar. Using it
gets you the PDF with the navigation pane with all the subheads.
If you only have Acrobat Reader, you are stuck with the Word file.
