Important changes coming for the election of your Steering committee members

IDTrust Member Section Members,

The Member Section Policy,[1] which governs the activities of the Member Section in coordination with your Rules of Procedure  document, was recently revised by the Board of Directors with input from staff and all the Steering Committees.

A significant change coming from this revision is a schedule change and a simplification in the process to elect your Steering Committee. 

Your SC elections are in September, so no change is in store for your schedule

When nominations open on 2 September I will announce the number of seats eligible for nomination. (At this point I foresee 3 seats will be available)  *** Nominations WILL CLOSE on 15 September with no extensions.*** If the number of candidates does not exceed the number of open seats at that time, staff will announce the candidates as selected without a balloting process--the policy removes balloting in that circumstance because it cannot effect the outcome.  

Please take a few moments to review the new policy consider how it effects your group and share any questions or concerns. Most important -- please pay attention to the nomination process as there will not be any extensions or means to accommodate late-comers.
