Don,
While you mention the proposal about e-mail votes vs. live meetings, it is
not clear from the minutes that we did not act on this proposal. For the
record, and subject to live or e-mail discussion ;-, I'm not in favor of it.
Many of the Technical Committees will function virtually most of the time,
and so should the steering committee.
We all did agree "in principle" on the rest.

Excerpt from minutes...
Proposal to move the primary decision making model from a distribute
email vote and discussion to all actions except in an emergency to be
handled within the boundaries of the Steering Committee meetings.
Agreed in principle with a form of service level agreement from the
chair of
- Agenda out seven calendar days before the meeting
- Minutes out within 3 calendar days after the meeting
- Meeting dates more clearly set
The steering committee also acknowledged that care to attendance
must be increased.
Proposal to move the Tuesday September 10, 2002 to Thursday
September 5, 2002 to support a scheduling conflict of the Chair and to keep
the timing to close on the ROP in time for the OASIS Board meeting.
Proposed SC Meetings -
- September 5 - Note: Thursday - 5-6 EDST
- October 1 - 5-6 EDST
- October 22 - 5-6 EDST
- November 12 - 5-6 EST
