LegalXML Steering Committee,
OASIS is addressing issues related to translation of specifications as well
as how OASIS TCs work with participants in other languages. Please refer to
the OASIS Translation Policy:

Jamie or Karl can explain to you how we are handling localization
sub-committees (see the OASIS UBL TC's 3 localization sub-committees for
examples).
Also, since the anticipated audience and users of the resulting
specification(s) from this new TC include a wide range of legal and
regulatory agencies (law enforcement and public safety officials, judicial
and administrative bodies, national regulatory agencies, communication
service providers, lawful access service bureaus, and vendors of network
equipment, subscriber accounting systems, and collection system analysis
tools), please let us know what other international and regional
organizations we should get involved in this effort.
Karl is working closely with ITU in Geneva on other security related
standards, plus OASIS has just brought on board a part-time representative
in Geneva, who can help in contacting other international organizations that
should be informed of this proposed work.
