You asked that I raise with the LegalXML
Member Section Steering Committee various ideas for more frequent and formal
interaction between the Member Sections and the OASIS Board, the TAB, and the
other Member Sections.  The specific
ideas broached were quarterly meetings of the leadership of all of the Member
Sections and some sort of formal liaison between the Member Sections (or each
Member Section) and the TAB.  We
very much appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Board of Directors in  and recommend
that such annual meetings continue in the future; the annual symposium is a
good opportunity for that sort of exchange.  However, we do not perceive the need for,
or benefit from, any further formal collaboration or coordination mechanisms
between OASIS and our Member Section.  We are confident that Jamie will continue
to serve effectively as a technical and policy liaison for us and that we are
able to call on other TCs for technical help as we
perceive the need for it.  Thanks
very much for your interest in ensuring that we are effectively tied into the
overall OASIS operation.
