I view the vote as a documentation of consensus,
nothing more. If it is a question of consensus, it is always the goal under the
definition of “Is there anyone who can not live with this?”

Funny
thing is that clicking on a link in the message Kavi sends to eligible voters,
then on the "YES" option on the ballot itself, then completing the
electronic vote -- those steps likely take less time than it takes to write one
another our respective opinions and responses in this discussion.
On the
other hand, we may learn from it that there's no need to get all formal except
on particularly difficult matters.

Since we seem
to have a consensus, a vote would be a formality. I'm ok with foregoing a
formal vote -- I think any procedural issues can be cleaned up by ratifying the
consensus at the next SC meeting.

Upon
receipt of Don's objection I requested Roger to set up a ballot in
Kavi and he agreed. If Don is
willing formally to withdraw the
objection to proceeding informally
and there is no other objection, I
will then be in a position to
consider the matter to have been decided
by agreement of the TC's and
consensus of the SC.
