OASIS MS Steering Committee Members:  Staff has begun compiling the attached "Best Practices for MS Steering Committees" document as a way to share the wisdom between StCs and stimulate new activities. We also feel these guidelines will be useful for newly elected StC members and those considering serving on a StC.  Obviously, each MS has its own unique mission, so not every StC will find every suggestion in the document valuable. Still, we hope the exercise of reviewing useful practices of other StCs will be helpful as you plan and organize your group's activities.  Please take a moment to review the draft (attached in both ODF and PDF), and send me suggestions for additions or edits. I'll incorporate comments I receive by 15 Feb, then post the document on the OASIS web site. We'll update it as often as needed thereafter--this is meant to be a living document that accurately reflects your successes and lessons learned.  If you would like more details on implementing any of the ideas in the document, please let us know.  Best regards, Carol
