LegalRuleML open standard project begins at OASIS

OASIS members,  You are invited to be represented in the LegalRuleML TC now being formed - the LegalRuleML Committee will define a rule interchange language for the legal domain. The work will enable modeling and reasoning that will allow implementers to structure, evaluate, and compare legal arguments constructed using the rule representation tools provided. Support for LegalRuleML is international and broad. Red Hat, RuleML Inc, the University of Bologna, Bell Helicopter, National ICT Australia (NICTA) and others have already committed to participate in the Committee. Your organization has the opportunity to join with these organizations to influence the development of LegalRuleML as an international standard.
The first meeting of the LegalRuleML Technical Committee will be held on 19 Jan by teleconference.  A chair or two co-chairs will be elected at this meeting.
