Special Board of Directors Elections - Nominations Open

OASIS Members,

 

On behalf of the entire OASIS organization, I am
pleased to announce a Special Election to fill 3 newly-created OASIS Board of Director
seats.

 

The recent written ballot by members of OASIS modified
the Bylaws such that we will now have eleven Directors on the Board, including
one Appointed Director position held by the currently serving President. 
This is an increase over the eight previous Directors, all elected, to enable a
wider representation of the globally and technically diverse OASIS membership.

 

By Resolution of the Board, these three available
seats will be filled through a special election by the OASIS membership.  

 

In order to integrate the new Board members as quickly
as possible, the following schedule has been adopted:

 

Nominations:

26 September - 9 October
 2003

 

Candidate Review and Balloting:

14 - 27 October
 2003  

 

Election Results Announcement to Members

29 October 2003

 

New Board Members Seated:

25 November 2003

We encourage all interested nominees to submit their
nomination documentation as soon as possible.  To help our members know
the candidates, all nominees will have the option to provide their reply to the
member questions we used during our most recent election. 
Nominee-submitted  documentation and  any replies to member questions
will be available to all members during the  Candidate Review and
Balloting period.

 

We are pleased to provide these additional Board seats
to our members, and therefore look forward to your active participation 
in this Special Election .
