(PR) 30-day Public Review for Product Life Cycle Support DEXs Version 1.0

The OASIS Product Life Cycle Support (PLCS) TC [1] members have recently  
approved a Committee Specification Draft (CSD) and submitted this  
specification for 30-day public review:

Specification Overview:

The Item Identification DEX is a specification for a ISO 10303-239 (PLCS)  
data exchange set compliant with the US Department of Defense Item Unique  
Identification (IUID) standard. The objective is to manage globally unique  
identifiers and to exchange identification information through the life of a  
physical (or realized) individual item. The Item Identification DEX can  
include the following information regarding a single individual item or  
multiple individual items: 

- Identification of the assembly of the item at a given point in the  
lifecycle;

- Identification of the item including the Unique Item Identifier;

- Identification of the item's acquisition contract;

- Identification of critical lifecycle events, such as Lost, Stolen and Sold,  
with related item status and condition;

- Identification of item versions;

- Reference to item design information;

- Representation of marks on the item;

- Identification of primary related organizations. 

Public Review Period:

The public review starts Monday, 07 November 2011 and ends 07 December  
2011.

This is an open invitation to comment. OASIS solicits feedback from  
potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or not, for the  
sake of improving the interoperability and quality of its technical work.

review of Product Life Cycle Support DEXs Version 1.0, we call your attention

technical committee. All members of the TC should be familiar with this  
document, which may create obligations regarding the disclosure and  
availability of a member's patent, copyright, trademark and license rights  
that read on an approved OASIS specification. OASIS invites any persons who

implementation of the above specification, so that notice of them may be
