OASIS seeks Distinguished Contributor nominations

The consortium’s annual “Hall of Fame” awards recognize members who have made significant contributions to the advancement of open standards. Recipients are selected by staff based on member nominations received by 7 Mar. Awards will be presented at the OASIS20 event at Cloud Connect on 3 Apr in Santa Clara, CA.

OASIS Standard vote opens for WS Quality Factors 

Balloting for Web Services Quality Factors 1.0 is now underway and will close 8 Mar. The specification provides a standard for defining quality factors relating to the development, usage, and management of Web services. WS Quality Factors was developed by representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsor, IBM, and the Korean National Information Society Agency (NIA), and others. All organizational members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on WS Quality Factors; those who wish to discuss the ballot may do so through .

WS-Calendar Update public review begins

WS-Calendar Calendar Update and Synchronization with REST-based Services 1.0 describes standard messages and interactions for update and synchronization using REST with a system that hosts calendar-based information such as traditional personal and enterprise calendar information or services that support XML payloads. This public review ends 14 Mar.

CMIS 1.1 public review begins

CMIS defines an interface that can be used by applications to work with content management repositories/systems and is designed to be layered on top of existing content management systems and their programmatic interfaces. This public review ends 23 Apr.

OASIS Provides Keynote and Panels at European Identity Cloud Conference

Laurent Liscia, OASIS executive director, will deliver the keynote address at the European Identity Conference (EIC) in Munich on 14 May. OASIS is also organizing two panel sessions, “ID Protocols – Out with the Old and in with the New?” and “Leveraging Standards to Combat Threats in Mobile Environments”.
