OASIS Standard ballots open for OData
Two ballots for OData specifications are now underway and will close 24 Feb. OData 4.0 is a REST-based Web protocol that builds on HTTP, AtomPub, and JSON using URIs to address and access data feed resources. It enables information to be accessed from a variety of sources including (but not limited to) relational databases, file systems, content management systems, and traditional Web sites. OData JSON Format 4.0 extends the core specification by defining representations for OData requests and responses. The OData specifications were developed by OASIS Foundational Sponsors, IBM and Microsoft, and by Sponsors, Axway, BlackBerry, CA, Citrix, Progress Software, Red Hat, SAP, and SDL. All organizational members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on the two OData specifications; those who wish to discuss the ballots may do so on the OASIS member discuss list.

TC publishes SAML Conformance Clause for AS4/ebMS
The Committee Specification defines the use of the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) in ebMS3 and applies it to scenarios addressed by AS4. Congratulations to ebXML Messaging Services TC chairs, Makesh Roa of Cisco and Sander Fieten, and to all TC members for accomplishing this milestone.

Public reviews open for XLIFF, DSS-X, and KMIP
XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF) defines a vocabulary to store localizable data and carry it from one step of the localization process to the other, while allowing interoperability between and among tools. This public review ends 25 Feb.
Digital Signature Services (DSS-X) Extension for Local Signature Computation 1.0 supports the creation of signatures on behalf of applications and/or users by utilizing server-based signature keys. This public review ends 12 Mar.
Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) defines a comprehensive protocol for communication between encryption systems and a broad range of new and legacy enterprise applications, including email, databases, and storage devices. This public review, which comprises 14 KMIP documents, ends 20 Mar.
