Members,

We have a
lot of exciting event activities taking place over the next few weeks and into
the fall.  Below is a quick recap.  All OASIS members are welcome to attend, so we

CAP Workshop 2016―23-24 August in Bangkok, Thailand 

The OASIS
Emergency Interoperability Member Section is one of the organizers of the 2016
CAP Implementation Workshop, where CAP implementers and associated
organizations will gather to discuss common issues and how best to expand
adoption of the CAP standard.  Managers
and technical experts interested in emergency alerting, including those from commercial
organizations, governments, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are
welcome to attend. 

There is no charge to participate in the Workshop. Questions may be directed to .

Borderless Cyber Europe―8-9 September at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium

In collaboration with our many partners, including CERT-EU,
Cyber Security Coalition, ENISA, ETSI, FIRST, FS-ISAC, ISACA, ICS-ISAC, and The
World Bank Group, OASIS will
hold a two day conference to share experiences and recommendations in an effort
to better prevent, detect, and respond more effectively to evolving cyber
threats. Speakers include:  Andrus Ansip,
European Commission VP, Merike Kaeo, IID Chief Information Security Officer,
Dirk Lybaert, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and former Secretary General at
Proximus, Beate Hofer, Volkswagen CISO, Rich Struse, Chief Advanced Technology
Officer, U.S. DHS, and many more.

EDXL/HL7: Working Together From
Incident to Hospital and Beyond Briefing―20
September in Baltimore, Maryland (in conjunction with the HL7 Working Group
Meeting)

The OASIS Emergency Management TC and the HL7
Public Health Emergency Response (PHER) have been working on a bi-directional
transformation specification between the OASIS EDXL Tracking of Emergency
Patients (TEP) and the HL7 in-hospital messaging.  During the September
HL7 Working Group Meeting, key players involved in this effort will come
together to provide a briefing and demonstration of this new initiative. 

The briefing and demonstration will take
place at the Hyatt
Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor from 5:15-6:15 on Tuesday, 20 September.

Borderless Cyber Asia―1-2
November at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan

OASIS, along with Keio University and the U.S. Embassy in Japan, will take our
Borderless Cyber Conference series to Tokyo. This two day international forum
will be a place for CIOs, CISOs and cyber threat intelligence experts from
industry, government, academia and CSIRTs worldwide to share their Cyber Threat
Intelligence Information experiences, strategies, tactics and practices. 
OASIS members are welcome to join us to hear important dialogue that
will improve your state of preparedness and more effectively
protect your business against cyber threats. 

Borderless Cyber Asia will be preceded by a
one-day STIX, TAXII, CybOX training course on 31 October.  The training course will provide cyber
security professionals with the skills they need to share and consume threat

Continuous Engineering for the Internet of
Things Summit―15-17 November
in Long Beach, CaliforniaThe OASIS OSLC Member Section confirmed its
support of the Summit, and representatives from the member section will be presenting
and exhibiting at the event.  The group
is planning to also hold a special networking reception for Summit attendees on
the evening of Tuesday, 15 November.  The
event is designed to provide in-depth technical content targeted at architects,
developers, integrators and managers through lectures and hands-on labs. 

Hosted on the Queen Mary Cruise Liner, it
will surely be a unique experience.  If
you are planning to attend the event, please be sure to contact our OSLC Member Section Steering
Committee or stop by the OSLC exhibit space for an invitation to the
reception.
