OASIS is proud to announce Richard Coppen and Richard Struse have been named Distinguished Contributors to OASIS.

 

Distinguished Contributors are recognized for their Introduction of new work, influence and visibility in the industry, ability to build consensus, leadership and service.Their participation substantially raises the quality and breadth
 of OASIS technical work.

 

Richard Coppen has co-chaired the MQTT TC since it came to OASIS in 2013.  MQTT has become an important specification in the Internet of Things, has advanced to OASIS Standard and has been designated as ISO/IEC 20922:2016.  Richard's quiet
 leadership has catalyzed the work of 30+ high quality members in advancing the spec's development.  Richard has also helped  bring the concepts expressed in MQTT to demonstrable fruition with his hobbyist development of "buildosaur"-- a MQTT powered model
 dinosaur that tours to give a light-hearted demonstration of the power of MQTT.  As he brings historic dinosaurs to life, Richard has also helped manage the synergistic open-source OS work ongoing in Eclipse and the wide range of liaison relationships expected
 in futuristic standards development.  

 

Richard Struse is the creator of the STIX and TAXII automated information sharing initiatives which have been widely adopted across the public and private sectors and is the basis of the OASIS Cyber Threat Information TC and its related
 Subcommittees and communities. Responding to a significant public need, the CTI TC under Rich's chairmanship, started with well over 100 members and continues to grow as OASIS largest TC.  Rich has shown great community leadership as the spec advanced its
 development while the TC empowered OASIS' development of new mirror mail lists, open repos, and a newly announced User Council.  Through all this, Rich has been a frequent speaker on a global circuit of events promoting CTI, OASIS and open standards as part
 of the solution to the growing cyber threat problem.

 

Coppen and Struse join the Distinguished Contributor hall of fame at  https://www.oasis-open.org/member-roster/distinguished-contributors
 and are now eligible for all the benefits thereof.
