No, the prose differs from the example and so is incorrect. Or you  
could say the example differs from the prose and therefore the example 
is incorrect but either way they should be consistent.

The prose, to be consistent with the example, should say something like: 
"specifies a left paragraph margin of 1 cm as well as a lower margin of 
0.5 cm:"
