Referring to Unicode ISO/IEC 10646 characters (editorial; ODF all versions)

Dear all,

Through the ODF spec, Unicode characters are referred to in at least 4
different ways (e.g. "SPACE (0x0020)", "SOFT HYPHEN (00AD)", "U+27A2",
"0xf000 to 0xf0ff").

UCS code positions and ranges should be referred to consistently in the
text, using the conventions of ISO/IEC 10646 clause 6.3, i.e.,

{ U | u } [ {+}(xxxx | xxxxx | xxxxxx) | {-}xxxxxxxx ],

where "x" represents one hexadecimal digit (0 to 9, A to F, or a to f).

for readability, the character name might be stated when a code position
is first mentioned in a section ...
