contours: what? (ODF all versions)

The <draw:contour-polygon> and <draw:contour-path> elements are used to
specify contours to be applied to object or images.

Would somebody be able to *implement* "contours" armed with just a copy
of the ODF spec, and these two lines of description (from here on in,
the spec seems to assume the readers all about contours) ?

The spec must be re-written so that such an implementer could. A good
start might be to define "contour" in a formal terms and definitions
section.

This might take a couple of pages of description (with maybe some
example diagrams, formulae etc) - not just a couple of lines ...
