I would accept "extended" as a conformance class, in contrast to the "host
application document" notion. My lingering concern is that it might be
taken as superior to just plain conforming.
I agree that conformable is subtle and I find myself slipping up between
conforming and conformable sometimes. I have to watch myself. I also don't
know how well it might differentiate in translation.
"Extended" doesn't provide the confusion with "conforming" and is preferable
on that count. If we could shake off the superiority notion, even better.

Sorry, Dennis. "Conformable" as a term doesn't work well. I don't think
that we should, in an international standard, be using subtle grammatical
variations to express important distinctions in terminology, especially
when introducing a novel term. There is too great a risk that it will
not stand up to translation to other languages, especially when we already
have "conforming", "conformance" and "conformant" as terms.
But I'm certainly open to alternatives. Why not something like "Extended"
conformance class? That seems clear enough.
