(B) is an extension to (A) in the sense of that whenever (A) results in a non-error, B will give the same answer. When A gives an error , B gives an error or 0.
As a distribution (B) makes much more sense than (A) in that it provides 0 when the (well-defined) probability is 0, while A frequently gives an error instead.
