Hmm, I don't think the "no literals" helps. Patrick said, "if a function requires DateParam, passing it a Basis should result in an error. Yes?". But in practice *no* implementation treats this as an error. If a function accepts a DateParam, then *anything* based on Number is accepted, period, and it doesn't matter if there's a literal format or not.
