Um, this is a style attribute. If it is meaningless to a consumer, of what possible value is it, especially if it is somehow after the fact?
My concern is more with the use of this with <style:background-image>. If style:filter-name doesn't help me know what that binary data is, what *is* there that lets a consumer know how to interpret the <office:binary-data> of the <style:background-image> element? I assume that the data is there so the consumer does not have to resolve the xlink:href (if it is there) and refetch the background image, assuming it is accessible and the consumer is connected.
That is why I suggested this be examined more carefully. Maybe the problem is not about the filter-name, which is apparently not needed. But then, where else is there some kind of type information that indicates the format of the image that is coded in the <office:binary-data>?
