This issue seems to be resolved. I will keep it on needs-discussion for another week. If no objections are raised by when, I will remove the needs-discussion flag.
The schema changes that Dennis mentioned are covered by OFFICE-3317. This issue also has "needs discussion" flag. Any concerns regarding the schema changes should be covered by that issue.
