I am pleased to announce that plans to create the OpenDocument XML.org Focus
Area are underway. The Focus Area will serve as a community gathering place and
information resource to advance the adoption of OpenDocument. The site will
provide technical and educational materials, collaborative workspaces, an
events calendar, forums, blogs, and other discussion areas. (See attached
document for details.)

Any OASIS member may participate in the Editorial Board for the OpenDocument
Focus Area. A publicly archived email list will be created for Editorial Board
use. If you would like to serve on the OpenDocument XML.org Editorial Board,
please notify me this week. Include the email address you prefer to have
subscribed to the list and the time zone in which you work.

I'd like to schedule an Editorial Board conference call early next week. The
day/time/call-in info will be sent via the mail list.
