Farrukh,

The CRI approach does this - and goes one step further - 
where you can extend the types - and allow people to 
store multiple representations of the top level item as
they need.

Then you can make it recursive too.  That's the point
we got to in the CRI work.   The recursion is where 
average folks get a little lost - so we may want to just
"hold that thought" as Joe puts it - for now.
