[Issue 241] Proposal to resolve

At the Portland f2f [1] we agreed on an outline for issue 241 [2] 
resolution:

"Resolution: Remove the binding sub-elements from producers and consumers"

Based on that I have created an inlined proposal to resolve the issue:
