My issue with the Subject element was answered in Phill's mail, 
but just to be clear where I had a problem:

If an issuer says: "P and Q and R have X"

Then it may or may not be the case that "P has X" should be considered
true, depending on how we define things. That was the ambiguity that
I wanted to avoid.
