I'm the one who's raised this a few times, and have interest also because I
originally championed the "profile" terminology. 

That said, I strongly prefer "SOAP Profile of SAML"
                                           ^^

It's a detail, but I feel it'll help folks a little in understanding the
concept of "profiles".
