SAML 2.0 vs Liberty 1.1/1.2 and SAML 1.1 backwards compatibility

One issue that we will 
inevitably confront is that of backward compatibility 
between

SAML 2.0 vs Liberty 
ID-FF and SAML 1.X. While clearly we will aim for the 
minimal

possible set of changes, I 
also think it is inevitable that there will be some changes

or extensions. 

 

I guess I would like to see 
a SAML 2.0 work item captured along the lines of "Upgrading from ID-FF 
1.X,

SAML 1.X to SAML 2.0". 
It would ultimately include some high-level overview 

on protocols that have 
changed/not changed, resulting impact on existing implementations 

as well as a laundry list of specific 
changes. 

 

I would be happy to co-own 
this work item along with a person who is closer to

the details of the 
Liberty protocols.  Any volunteers?
