Call for IPR declarations and licensing assurances

The OASIS IPR policy [section 3.2 (A)] states that: “Where
any patents, patent applications, or other proprietary rights are known, or
claimed, with respect to any specification developed within the OASIS process,
and are formally brought to the attention of the OASIS Board of Directors, the
OASIS Board of Directors shall not advance the specification without including
in the document a note indicating the existence of such rights, or claimed
rights.”

 

To satisfy this requirement, our specification documents
include the required notices and refer readers to the SSTC IPR page.  

 

The SSTC chairs request that all OASIS SSTC member companies
that have IP claims of rights relevant to the SAML 2.0 specifications to please
notify us and the OASIS Executive Director (Patrick Gannon - ) of
such claims of rights and any assurances of licenses to be made available for
those claims.  Notices submitted to OASIS will be posted to the OASIS SSTC
IPR page.
