Notification of SSTC SAML V2.0 CD and public review votes

Hello Mary,

            This
email is to notify you of our Committee Draft vote for SAML 2.0 and our request
to start a new public review period.  It is very important to us that the
public review period to start TODAY; 15-December.  This will allow us,
barring any complications, to complete the public review and potentially have a
vote to reaffirm the CD’s and vote to submit for standardization in
January.  Any delay in starting the Public Review would cause us to miss
the January submission deadline.

 

The OASIS SSTC completed 3 electronic ballots at 1:00 am on
15-Dec. The SSTC had 37 voting members at the time of these ballots.

 

The first ballot was to approve our latest SAML V2.0
specifications as OASIS Committee Drafts (CD-03).  This ballot is located
at:

The vote result of this ballot was 35 Yes, 0 No, and 0
Abstain.  The vote satisfies the 2/3 majority requirement for such ballots
and thus passes.

 

The second ballot was for submitting the specs to OASIS for
standardization assuming the CD ballot passed.  This ballot is located at:

The vote result of this ballot was 10 Yes, 23 No, and 2
Abstain.  Thus, this ballot failed.

 

The final ballot was for submitting the specifications to
OASIS to start a new 30-day Public Review period.  This ballot is located

The vote result of this ballot was 35 Yes, 0 No, and 0
abstain. This vote satisfies the simple majority requirement for such ballots
and thus passed.

PDF files and all schemas. Note that there are 2 versions of each PDF file; one
for the spec and one for reference purposes containing all differences since
