RE: [security-services] Groups - Executive Overview rev 08 (.pdf with diffs) (sstc-saml-exec-overview-2.0-draft-08-diff.pdf) uploaded
So it’s going to remain with an alliance of companies or submitted to a standards group in the future? Does this alliance have a name, is it a new standards group or will it remain a private standard as mentioned in the document? I have no idea and this is probably not the forum to get into the details. I guess my point is that there is no one formal organization working on this specification and it is listed as “private” so why include a reference? Our customers are confused enough about what is a standard, a specification, published paper or a research project. I worry that references to specifications not in a formal organization aide in this confusion. I have raised the point and don’t want to drag this out too far. If no one else objects, I will drop the issue. Anyone else agree or disagree on this topic? Dana S. Kaufman VP of Product Management Forum Systems, Inc.
