ITU-T provides their standards available for free
with permanent URIs in six languages and is a
universal public body encompassing the entire world.
ISO/IEC is a private body whose specifications
are not readily available, in only one language,
and generally cost many hundreds if not thousands
of dollars to obtain.
Seems like a no-brainer.
