Would probably make sense to include have a Payment ASBIE to the Remittance

Kenneth,

A DueDate is ofcourse a different entity than the actual PaymentDate.

So that would mean we need to add something like that ... So you can have the actual PaymentDate separate.

Maybe I donât understand the question well.. But whatâs wrong with using the PaymentMeans/PaymentDueDate?

We have a Committee Note providing some guidance on the use of the PaymentMeans here: http://docs.oasis-open.org/ubl/UBL-Payment/v1.0/UBL-Payment-v1.0.html

David,

Â

Very good question. I did have a quick look at the specifications and also to me there is no immediate answer.

Â

So this would be good to investigate further and see if we need to add something specific to this document.

I realise that the banking system may or may not actually deliver the cash on the specified date, or even offer a date when requested to using an on-line banking system. So at best the payment date should be an optional field.

Â
However in the UK one can normally specify either immediate (or within 24 hours) transmission, or that (funds being available) the transfer should be made ready for the start of business on a specified date.

Â
It seems wrong to use the IssueDate, as that should be the date when the RemittanceAdvice is created/sent, and as such sets a start date for the recipient to start looking out for the deposit.

Â
Obviously with cheques (I am not sure I know where my cheque book is, let alone when I last used it), you are at the whim Postal service and the recipient to bank the cheque and then for it to be cleared.ÂÂ But on-line banking and for larger organisations Swift etc are becoming more prevalent.
