There seem to be at least two different (but related) issues that
might be clarified by a simple use case descriptions.

First, how are the schemas used, i.e. basis for hand creation of
documents in Notepad (ugh...), authoring in XMetaL or XML Spy,
automated generation from legacy system adapters, etc.

Second, how are the schemas extended or customized?

Both of these categories have "ease of use" criteria wrt the schemas.
