Marion, Thank-you for adding an important point.
I concur that the UDEF UID has its primary role in the Business Information Entity (BIE) catalog since it captures context via the fact that the object is imbedded within the UDEF name.
The list of UDEF objects correspond with the ebXML context categories and actually address context topics broader than the current list within ebXML.
