Further to our discussion (and earlier discussions as well) at the UBL
face-to-face meeting last
week in Barcelona, we have schedule the captioned presentation at a
LCSC & NDRSC joint phone
conference scheduled for Tuesdays 9:00-11:00 California Time. This
will be done prior to LCSC
getting on to its regular weekly meeting agenda.
I have been asking for the opportunity to make this presentation
(along with friends of mine who
have been working on knowledge representation, ontologies and some
aspects of the semantic web) in
that I am seeing a lot of parallels in what UBL is doing, to what the
semantic web people are
trying to get accomplished. I believe understanding what each other
(UBL members and ontologists)
is doing and having a dialog between the two parties will be
beneficial to both. The session will
last about 45-60 minutes, with a presentation, followed by some time
for Q&A. Joining me in this
presentation will be Dr. Leo Obrst (W3C Web Ontology Working Group &
IEEE Standard Upper Ontology
working group), and Mr. Jack Park (pioneer in XTM work, and
author/editor of the upcoming, first
book on Topic Maps).
