The above is a bit unclear (non letter characters? define, please ;)
Would it make more sense to say something like: in languages that use
the ISO_8859 character set, only the following octal codes are allowed
in names: [list the numbers; I can do that if needed]
I have no idea what to do about other languages. I believe it's not
in our purview.
I do think that simply saying that only [a-zA-Z] are allowed would
not be seen very sympathetically in non English speaking places...
