Upcoming UIMA TC Telecon (January 10th)
Hi all,

Wednesday Jan 10th, 11AM-12:30 Eastern
is our next telecon to discuss the UIMA specification (Call-in Information
below).

Soon after the last call I had sent
out a white paper for you to take a look out. I attached the white-paper
again here for your convenience.

The primary technical goal I have for
Wednesday is to briefly discuss the various elements of the specification
proposed in the white paper and get feedback on the relevancy and priority
of that specification element. It is up to us to figure out how best to
proceed and I thought a good starting  point would be to talk about
the essential the scope of the specification itself.

I imagine we would follow the order
presented in the white-paper and spend 15 mins or so on each proposed element,
discussing at high-level the what and the why. For these early discussions
we should try to avoid diving too deeply into the details.

Based on some early feedback,  I
think one issue we may have in our discussions is differentiating implementation
issues, best discussed as part of the Apache project,  from specification
issues. Some of this is clear-cut but there are certainly grey areas and
areas where implementation issues should influence the spec.

I look forward to our telecon.

Same call-In information as last time.
